Disney will integrate Hulu into Disney+ next year, creating a unified app experience. Hulu will maintain its brand identity as Disney's "global general entertainment brand". The integration follows Disney's acquisition of Comcast's Hulu share, completed in June. Recent subscriber growth saw Disney+ and Hulu add 2.6 million new subscribers, totaling 183 million. A new ESPN Direct service launches on August 21, allowing bundles of all three apps for $29.99 a month. All streaming services will operate on a unified tech stack for better ad management and sales efficiency.
Once the new ESPN Direct launches on August 21, all three apps - while there are still three, of course - will be sold as a bundle for $29.99 a month for the first 12 months.
Per Iger, Hulu will instead serve as Disney's "global general entertainment brand" starting this fall, when it will replace the Star logo that currently appears in international markets.
