SpaceX tells FCC it has a plan to make Starlink about 10 times faster
Briefly

SpaceX claims the modification and its companion amendment will enable the Gen2 system to deliver gigabit-speed, truly low-latency broadband to all Americans and billions globally.
Elon Musk stated that next generation Starlink satellites, which are large enough only for Starship launches, will allow for a 10X increase in bandwidth.
The reconfiguration will increase the potential maximum number of orbital planes and satellites per plane while keeping the planned total number of Gen2 satellites at 29,988 or less.
SpaceX promised gigabit speeds in 2016, stating once fully optimized, the system could provide high bandwidth (up to 1Gbps) and low-latency broadband to consumers.
