Only Four U.S. States Have Adequate Chargers Per EV: Study
Briefly

As the demand for electric vehicles grows, the availability of charging stations is becoming a significant issue. The here-SBD EV Index highlights a concerning trend where only Delaware, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Connecticut offer adequate charging infrastructure for their EV drivers. In stark contrast, states like Minnesota and Alaska are experiencing overcrowded charging experiences, leading to frustrations among users who desperately seek reliable charging solutions.
The study emphasizes a crucial statistic: ideally, there should be one public charging point for every nine to ten electric vehicles on the road. Unfortunately, many states, especially those at the bottom of the rankings, fall far short of this goal. For instance, Michigan faced a substantial drop in ranking due to an imbalance in EV-to-charger ratios and a decline in average charging speeds, highlighting the urgent need for infrastructure improvements.
