Microsoft is finally removing the FAT32 partition size limit in Windows 11
Briefly

Microsoft is increasing the FAT32 size limit from 32GB to 2TB on the command line in Windows 11, addressing a long-standing limitation present since Windows 95.
Former developer Dave Plummer revealed that the 32GB limit was an arbitrary choice made during the development of Windows 95, which has persisted for decades without revision.
While Windows has supported reading FAT32 partitions up to 2TB for years, users had to rely on third-party tools to create them until this command line update.
Users are hopeful that Microsoft will also update the format dialog box to remove the FAT32 size limit, further simplifying partition creation.
