Microsoft explains how it's tackling security and privacy for Recall
Briefly

Microsoft's Recall feature, designed to enhance user accessibility, faced strong criticism over security concerns due to its screenshot functionality. The company is now implementing stricter privacy features.

We’ve made Recall opt-in by default, required Windows Hello for activation, and implemented encryption protocols for data protection, prioritizing user control and security.
Recall's architecture includes VBS Enclaves, establishing a trusted execution environment to safeguard snapshots and related data from security threats and ensuring privacy.
