Sachin Katti left Intel to join OpenAI to work on designing and building compute infrastructure. Intel said Chief Executive Officer Lip-Bu Tan will take on Katti's Chief Technology and AI Officer responsibilities. Intel stated that AI remains one of its highest strategic priorities and that it will focus on executing its technology and product road map across emerging AI workloads. Katti had been promoted earlier this year to lead Intel's artificial intelligence efforts. Intel has struggled to field products capable of competing with market leader Nvidia.
