Google is launching a new Android-based XR platform, Android XR, designed to support app development across various devices including headsets and glasses.
The platform will integrate existing tools like ARCore, Android Studio, and Unity, and includes both augmented and immersive content experiences.
The first device to employ Android XR is the Samsung-built Project Moohan headset designed to switch seamlessly between immersive experiences and augmented reality.
Android XR's compatibility with the Play Store means users will have access to a wide range of mobile apps, enhancing user experience as opposed to Apple's more limited Vision Pro.
