Amazon targets smart glasses that could guide delivery drivers to where to drop off packages, report says
Briefly

Amazon is reportedly developing smart glasses for delivery workers that will provide navigation within buildings and allow them to take pictures of packages upon delivery. This innovation aims to streamline the delivery process by reducing the need for handheld devices, thus allowing workers to carry more packages.
The development, known as project 'Amelia,' faces challenges such as ensuring the glasses have sufficient battery life for entire delivery shifts and gathering accurate location data. Despite these hurdles, Amazon's goal is to enhance the delivery experience for drivers.
According to an Amazon spokesperson, 'We are continuously innovating to create an even safer and better delivery experience for drivers.' However, the spokesperson also noted that the company does not typically comment on its future product plans or roadmaps.
While Amazon has previously released consumer-oriented smart glasses, like the Echo Frames which lack integrated displays and cameras, the new delivery version will reportedly use the same foundational technology but tailored for logistical purposes.
