"I pretty much am in the grocery store at least twice a day, every single day," Buechel said. He visits the flagship store during lunchtime and after work to prep fresh ingredients.
"I can't host a party without asking our cheesemongers for their recommendations on putting together an impressive cheese and charcuterie board," he said. His love for food shapes his personal and professional life.
"I happen to work above one of the best places to eat in Austin," said Buechel, who became CEO in 2022 after a significant transition period from the previous founder.
Buechel credits his frequent store visits as the key to understanding customer preferences and maintaining high-quality standards at Whole Foods Market.
