Copenhagen-based Hybird Energy recently secured €2.4 million in funding aimed at enhancing its innovative energy optimisation platform, which integrates both hardware and software to provide detailed energy management. Founded by Thomas Skovby, Søren Berg, and Morten Primdahl, the company emerged out of frustration with traditional electricity monitoring systems. The startup's name reflects its focus on hybrid solutions to reduce energy consumption and emissions, emphasizing its commitment to sustainable energy management through AI-powered technology.
"Hybrid was the working title of the company, until Johannes Torpe, a co-founder and head of design came up with the new name, a way of saying what we are," says Søren Berg, co-founder of Hybird Energy.
"It's catchy and memorable, as a good name should be," Søren explains. "Hybird is focused on eliminating unnecessary electrical consumption, to lower emissions from CO2, thus having 'energy' in our domain name feels right," he adds.
