""I have been fascinated by artificial intelligence since high school, when I began tinkering with neural networks before the subject was even taught in class,""
""I would raid the library for every book I could carry, captivated by the idea of algorithms inspired by biology.""
""I felt an unfinished quest,""
""Rover had been a good outcome, but not yet in the league of companies I admired.""
Jonathan Siddharth is cofounder and CEO of Turing, a $2.2 billion AI company building large language models for clients including OpenAI. He began experimenting with neural networks as a teenager, creating a project to program a neural network to drive a car and voraciously studying library books on algorithms. Siddharth earned a master’s in computer science at Stanford, where he met Vijay Krishnan and co‑founded Rover in 2008. Rover reached number one on Apple’s App Store and later sold to Revcontent. Siddharth founded Turing in 2018 and raised $111 million in a March Series E, doubling valuation.
