The young changemakers from Evergreen Community Charter School were inspired by Solight's mission to aid impoverished communities through portable solar lights for children in Zambia.
After learning about Solight, the students created homemade lanterns-decorated mason jars with solar lights, selling them to raise funds for children in Zambia.
Creator Alice Min Soo Chun emphasized the students' potential for change by stating, 'I hope you realize how powerful you are. Just as 6th graders, you can change the world.'
The students expressed gratitude for their involvement, with one noting, 'It makes me feel really touched that I can do something and it will affect something so positively in the future.'
