KFC announced it's leaving Kentucky
Briefly

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is set to relocate its U.S. corporate office from Louisville, KY to Plano, TX, amid a corporate restructuring by its parent company, Yum Brands. The move will affect about 100 corporate employees over the next six months, prompting disappointment from political leaders in Kentucky. Governor Andy Beshear and Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg voiced their concerns, emphasizing KFC's deep-rooted connection to Kentucky. While the corporate office will move, Yum stated that they will retain some functions in Louisville, maintaining a presence with 560 employees in the city.
"I am disappointed by this decision and believe the company's founder would be, too," Gov. Andy Beshear said, expressing concerns about the KFC relocation.
"This company's name starts with Kentucky, and it has marketed our state's heritage and culture in the sale of its product," Beshear continued.
"The brand 'was born here and is synonymous with Kentucky,'" said Mayor Craig Greenberg, highlighting the local connection and identity of KFC.
"I've asked to meet with the Yum CEO soon and am heartened Yum will retain its corporate headquarters and 560 employees here," Greenberg added.
