eBay has eliminated seller fees for domestic purchases in the UK, aiming to attract more consumer-to-consumer sellers and improve marketplace diversity.
CEO Jamie Iannone stated that eliminating selling fees strengthens eBay’s marketplace by lowering barriers, thereby enhancing inventory variety and seller engagement.
With the UK having numerous unused items, Iannone believes removing fees encourages more sellers to list items, creating a vibrant marketplace.
The move also aims to counter competition from zero-fee platforms like Vinted and Depop, presenting eBay in a better light against these rivals.
