AST SpaceMobile has successfully launched its first five commercial satellites, known as 'BlueBirds,' aimed at providing cellular broadband services directly to standard smartphones.
Each satellite can transmit data at speeds up to 120 Mbps and communicate with over 5,600 coverage cells, aiming to enhance mobile connectivity across the United States and selected global markets.
