Alan Wake and Control TV and movies look to be on the way from Annapurna, thanks to new partnership with Remedy over Control 2
Briefly

"Annapurna's creative values align perfectly with ours, making them an inspiring partner for the journey ahead," reads a joint statement from Remedy creative director Mikael Kasurinen and Control executive producer Juha Vainio. This partnership aims to bolster the game development of Control 2, while also extending the franchise into new media formats such as film and TV, a move that Remedy believes will provide the necessary support and resources to enhance their creative vision.
"I'm absolutely thrilled (yes!) by this opportunity to expand the story of Alan Wake and our whole Remedy Connected Universe to mediums beyond games, and to build all of this in close collaboration, games, film, TV, and other mediums as well, as one unified vision," shared Sam Lake from Remedy. This highlights Remedy’s enthusiasm for multi-platform storytelling and the ambition to create a cohesive narrative across various entertainment forms.
The arrangement sees Annapurna becoming a co-production and co-financing partner on Control 2, financing 50% of the game's development, while acquiring licensing rights for the Control and Alan Wake franchises to expand into film and TV adaptations. This clearly showcases Annapurna's commitment to not only funding the game but also to cultivating these beloved franchises into broader cultural phenomena.
