Platform engineering, recently, when I've been telling people that I'm going to give a talk on platforms, I get a lot of grumbles like, this is just marketing. I've been doing platform engineering for forever.
Platform engineering, I think of as like infra V2. Instead of running the infrastructure yourself, you're abstracting away that infrastructure for the most part. You're like the glue layer. You're responsible for crafting architecture, making choices and stuff.
