Facebook announced that all videos shared on its platform will now be automatically converted to reels, regardless of length or orientation. This change aims to streamline the video-sharing format and simplify user experience by merging different posting tools into one. The 'Video' tab will be renamed 'Reels', and all videos will adopt the reel format without length restrictions. Users will no longer need to choose between a video or a reel. This move follows similar changes made on Instagram, highlighting Meta's strategy to unify video content across its platforms.
The idea behind the changes is to streamline the video-sharing format on the social network. It won't be the first time that a Meta-owned platform has done so.
Previously, you'd upload a video to Feed or post a reel using different creative flows and tools for each format; now, we're bringing these experiences together.
