San Jose immigration lawyer advocates for citizenship - San Jose Spotlight
Briefly

Richard Hobbs has dedicated his life to addressing exploitative systems and assisting those in need. As an immigration attorney for 35 years, he has aided thousands in applying for citizenship and represented many in court. His work stems from experiences with extreme poverty while volunteering with the Peace Corps in Afghanistan and witnessing corruption in Mexico. Hobbs founded several organizations, including SIREN and Human Agenda, focusing on immigrants' rights and fighting for basic human rights, driven by his vision for a just society.
Traveling in countries with immense poverty really changed my life. Once you understand oppression on a worldwide level, you can understand the need to try to help oppressed people as much as you can.
What attracted me to (Human Agenda) is Richard's vision as to what the good society should be. Not many, and probably (no organizations) in our area have such a robust vision of how we can create a just society.
