Reorganized office strengthens Cornell's commitment to civil rights | Cornell Chronicle
Briefly

Cornell University's Office of Civil Rights (COCR) consolidates various compliance and reporting functions related to bias, discrimination, and misconduct. The new website launched on June 12 offers resources on issues ranging from sexual misconduct to employee accommodations. President Michael I. Kotlikoff emphasizes the importance of fostering an inclusive campus culture, reinforcing the university's mission. The restructured office not only manages student complaints but also addresses faculty and staff-related issues, aiming to streamline the reporting process for incidents of discrimination and harassment.
Fostering an inclusive and respectful campus culture, one where all parties can express themselves and engage with each other safely and civilly, is essential to Cornell's mission and purpose.
By centralizing all civil rights compliance work in one office, we hope to provide clarity to the Cornell community about where and how to report any incident of bias, discrimination or harassment.
