Valentín 'Taty' Castellanos has joined West Ham United from Lazio for an undisclosed fee on a four-and-a-half-year contract, with an option for a further year. He made 98 appearances for Lazio since joining in 2023, scoring 22 goals and providing 16 assists. Castellanos previously played for New York City FC and Girona and has won two caps for Argentina since his 2024 debut. Head coach Nuno Espírito Santo identified Castellanos as "a key target". Castellanos said he will "give everything" and described every match as a battle. He is West Ham's second January signing after Pablo Felipe. West Ham sit 18th in the Premier League, four points above relegation, and face Nottingham Forest.
