Aston Villa have signed USA defender Jenna Nighswonger on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent. The 25-year-old has played only 16 minutes in the Women's Super League this season. Villa director of women's football Marisa Ewers said the club had tracked Nighswonger and welcomed her commitment to their project, adding the signing supports Villa's ambitions to build an exciting and competitive squad and that Nighswonger will add quality. Nighswonger was part of the USA squad that won Olympic gold at Paris 2024. Villa sit eighth in the WSL after 11 games.
