Sergio Busquets announced his retirement at the end of the 2025 Major League Soccer season via an Instagram video. He reflected on nearly 20 years as a professional, thanking FC Barcelona, the Spain national team, and Inter Miami. Busquets made more than 700 appearances for Barcelona, winning multiple La Liga titles, Champions League trophies, and Copa del Reys. He was part of Spain's 2008 European Championship, 2010 World Cup, and 2012 European Championship triumphs. He joined Inter Miami in 2023 with Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba and helped win the 2023 Leagues Cup and 2024 Supporters' Shield.
