Report: Bayern Munich still balking at big signing bonus for Dayot Upamecano
"Bayern is in talks with the advisors of Dayot Upamecano over an extension of the expiring contract. Financially, there is no agreement yet. Upamecano is currently already earning up to 16 million €. The sticking point is said to be demands for a signing bonus. Per the report, the big signing bonus for Alphonso Davies is not something that Bayern Munich wants to do again - at least not up to that level: Alphonso Davies pocketed 17 million € for his signature. Bayern would be reluctant to pay such a sum again."
"In the executive suite, they are betting that Upamecano might be willing to make financial concessions for further collaboration with Kompany. An agreement still has not been reached. The supervisory board has not yet been presented with concrete figures from Eberl & Friend regarding Upamecano. Time is ticking. Other clubs will have their chance to formally talk to Upamecano in the coming months. Surely, at least one of them would be willing to pay Upamecano's requested signing bonus."
Bayern Munich is negotiating with Dayot Upamecano's advisors to extend his expiring contract. No financial agreement has been reached yet. Upamecano currently earns up to €16 million. The central dispute concerns demands for a signing bonus. Alphonso Davies previously received a €17 million signing bonus, and Bayern are reluctant to match that level. Club executives hope Upamecano will accept lower financial terms to continue working under coach Kompany, who has overseen his strong development. The supervisory board has not received concrete figures from Eberl & Friend. Other clubs will have opportunities to offer the requested signing bonus.
