Leicester City snap up Alisha Lehmann
""It feels amazing and I'm so happy to be here," Lehmann told Leicester's official website. "It feels like a homecoming, coming back to England, and I'm really happy. "Leicester are an amazing club. I've seen the training ground and, of course, the stadium. They want to push women's football forward. "In every country, football is so different. You meet new people and learn different things about football."
""I learned a lot and played with some great players, but England is my home so I'm happy to be back. "What makes me happy in life is football. It's not about where I live or the climate I'm in, but playing because we have one career, and I want to make the most out of it.""
Alisha Lehmann has signed for Leicester City from FC Como on a two-and-a-half-year contract. The 27-year-old forward has won 64 caps for Switzerland and joins a squad strengthened by Ashleigh Neville, Rachel Williams and Sarah Mayling. Lehmann left Aston Villa for Juventus in 2024 and was part of a Serie A and Coppa Italia double-winning squad. A short stint at Como proved unsuccessful and Lehmann said she is happy to return to England, calling the move a homecoming. Leicester currently sit ninth in the 12-team Super League after a 1-0 loss to Spurs.
