Planning Commission Chair Alan Zisser acknowledged the council's decision despite recommending to keep the threshold, emphasizing the need for more time to understand the policy's ramifications.
Mayor Susan Landry stressed the importance of affordable housing, stating, 'The hope is that we basically start building up money and units to help our housing.'
The policy is expected to generate approximately $237,000 annually and will be implemented in about a year, despite concerns about its impact on small developers.
