Barcelona have agreed to pay Newcastle more than €80 million for Anthony Gordon. Newcastle sources indicate Barcelona moved quickly after opening talks with the Magpies. The deal would provide Newcastle a major profit compared with the £45 million paid to Everton in January 2023. The transfer is expected to disappoint Bayern Munich, which also pursued Gordon, along with other clubs. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has acknowledged Gordon could leave this summer. Gordon has been central to Newcastle’s recent success, including their 2024-25 Carabao Cup win, though he missed the final due to suspension. His influence has dipped this season despite 17 goals, including one against Barcelona in the Champions League.

It is understood the Spanish champions have agreed to pay the Premier League club in excess of €80million - around £69.3m - to get their hands on a player they saw at close hand in the Champions League this season."
