Vila do Chapeu Square / Henry Teixeira Arquitetura e Urbanismo

HT Arquitetura e Urbanismo's design for the central square of the Vila do Chapéu gated community at Taíba beach focuses on blending nature with recreational spaces. The development features two skateparks, two beach tennis courts, communal toilets, a coconut grove, a children's playground, and a gym. The layout promotes integration, inspired by the local surfing culture, and offers facilities for various sports while utilizing local materials. The overall surfboard shape of the design further emphasizes its thematic connection to beach culture and outdoor activity.
The design solution was inspired by the exuberant nature that exists there and seeks to integrate with it, creating a meeting point for users.
By integrating skateboarding and surfing, the project promotes an inclusive environment where users can engage in various sports seamlessly.
Two beach tennis courts and a gym were designed with sand from the terrain, maintaining a natural flow from the landscape to the constructed spaces.
Overall design is shaped like a surfboard, reinforcing the theme of the development while ensuring functionality for sports and community gathering.
