""The Olympic champion in the Super-G will return to Switzerland as soon as possible to have a comprehensive medical examination. A statement on the extent of the injury will only be possible after these investigations. Further information will be communicated as soon as a diagnosis is available.""
""We have to wait and see what the investigations reveal. I sincerely wish Lara a speedy recovery.""
Lara Gut-Behrami crashed during a speed training run at Copper Mountain, sustaining an apparent left-knee injury with early on-site evaluations also indicating possible ACL, meniscus damage, and a concussion. She is expected to fly back to Switzerland for comprehensive medical examinations to determine the full extent of the injuries. Early accounts described poor visibility on the speed track and reported that she may have caught her hand on a gate, hit a bump, and been launched into a violent rollover. Race officials described the fall as serious and have withheld further detail pending medical results.
