Alert Snowboarder Saves Out of Control Beginner Skier
"Beautiful heads up save by this snowboarder Casey Willax who noticed a what could have been a critical situation in process and stepped in to save a skier who careening out of control down a mountain backwards. Casey positioned himself behind the woman and broke her momentum in what ended up in an impromptu bear hug. Once she her fall was safely arrested, the skier did an about face and continued on with her day as if nothing had happened."
"Whether she was too embarrassed to acknowledge the help or simply didn't see the need to stop and show Casey a modicum of gratitude, we want to show him some appreciation for stepping in and helping a stanger in a time of need. Thank you Casey! If that wasn't enough, here is another video of Casey coming to the rescue of some random person on the mountain."
Snowboarder Casey Willax noticed a skier careening backwards down a mountain and intervened to prevent a dangerous fall. He positioned himself behind the woman, absorbed her momentum, and secured her in an impromptu bear hug that arrested the fall. After stabilizing her, the skier turned and continued down the slope without stopping. Observers encouraged recognition for Casey’s quick action and urged others to express appreciation for his help. A second video shows Casey performing another on-mountain rescue, reinforcing the message that mountain environments are hazardous and that skiers and snowboarders should look after one another.
