Long-planned Santa Clara development still in limbo - San Jose Spotlight
Briefly

Developer Related Companies has completed two apartment buildings in Santa Clara, but their larger, ambitious mixed-use project remains stalled. The newly opened Clara and Ellore buildings contribute 508 apartments and a public park. Meanwhile, the 240-acre Related Santa Clara project, intended to add 1,680 homes and significant retail space, has faced challenges due to COVID-19 and legal issues. Changes to the development plans have been filed and are awaiting city approval, set for review by the Planning Commission soon.
This mixed-use development is expected to provide jobs and generate revenue for the city for years to come, according to Related California's COO.
The planned Related Santa Clara project promises new homes, retail, restaurants, and entertainment space once hurdles in the approval process are cleared.
