Art is a major part of San Jose's new fire training center

The most visible art piece, The Resilient City mural by artist Johanna Poethig, is installed on the street-facing wall of the Emergency Operations Center.
Over the next month, approximately 30 more art pieces will be installed inside the buildings of the new complex.
What's the point of putting a lot of art where the public will rarely, if ever, get a chance to see it?
This $90 million complex not only provides training for first responders but also serves as a centralized headquarters for emergency response.
