The event recognized 14 two-star restaurants and awarded five new one-star accolades, totaling 87 starred establishments statewide. Notable mentions included two new two-star awardees, Kiln and Enclos, and Hollywood's Providence and West Hollywood's Somni, achieving three-star status. Gwendal Poullennec, Michelin's international director, expressed pride in California's diverse culinary gems discovered by inspectors.
"Tonight marked a momentous evening for California and its culinary community," said Gwendal Poullennec, the Michelin Guide's international director, in a statement before the ceremony. "Our anonymous Inspectors discovered extraordinary culinary gems to highlight in this year's selection."
California now has a total of eight three-star restaurants, which is three more than New York City, solidifying its reputation as a dining mecca.
The Bay Area welcomed Kiln and Enclos, both earning two-star accolades for their unique culinary offerings this season, showcasing the region's gastronomic talent.
Providence and Somni were honored with three-star levels, and the elevation of restaurants demonstrates it's possible for establishments to achieve world-class culinary recognition.
