NVIDIA conference and St. Patrick's Day boost downtown San Jose foot traffic

The NVIDIA GTC conference 2025 has drawn top tech talent to San Jose, coinciding with St. Patrick's Day festivities. Local businesses report a significant uptick in activity, with downtown buzzing with visitors. The combination of conference attendees and holiday celebrations is expected to significantly benefit local vendors and businesses. Alex Stettinski, from San Jose Downtown Association, highlighted the importance of such events for the city's economic recovery. Events like GTC not only draw crowds but also enhance community engagement, making a notable impact post-pandemic.
"Twenty-five-thousand people in our downtown for the next couple of days," said Alex Stettinski, executive director of San Jose Downtown Association.
"Last year was the first time Nvidia came to downtown. This is the second year, we're so glad that they're coming again," Stettinski said.
"It's St. Patrick's Day. Whether GTC is here or not, we'd still be very busy. But add that crowd to the St. Patrick's Day crowd. It's going to be rocking down here," said David Mulvehill, Partner, O'Flaherty's Irish Pub.
"More and more people, more and more bodies, more money!" said vendor Steve Hansen.
