Bologna's transport operator TPER has unveiled its first hydrogen fuel cell buses, marking a historic shift towards greener public transport funded by Next Generation EU. Starting service this spring, the Solaris Urbino 12 Hydrogen buses are part of a broader initiative that aims to have 127 hydrogen vehicles in Bologna and 10 in Ferrara by 2026, representing a significant portion of the fleet transitioning to hydrogen by the end of the decade. The investment for these vehicles exceeds 74 million euros, with public funding covering the majority of costs.
