Author Correction: 2023 summer warmth unparalleled over the past 2,000 years
Briefly

The article discusses a correction made to a previously published study regarding temperatures from 246 CE and 242 CE. The correction involved an error in the mean and 95% confidence range for 246 CE, mistakenly using the values for 242 CE. The newfound correct data shows the mean temperature for 246 CE is +0.89°C, with a confidence range of +0.01°C to +1.68°C. This correction was acknowledged by all authors and credited to Dr. Samuli Helama for identifying the mistake.
In the version of the article initially published, Table 1 contained an error in the stated mean and 95% confidence range for 246 CE.
We also changed 246 CE to 242 CE to correct the typographical error. The mean values for 242 CE (+0.88 C) and 246 CE (+0.89 C) are statistically indistinguishable.
