"They should reach their destination on Monday, swinging around the moon in their Orion capsule before heading back home."
The Artemis II mission has provided breathtaking views of Earth from the Orion spacecraft as it approaches the moon. Commander Reid Wiseman captured images showing a curved slice of Earth and the entire globe with clouds and auroras. The crew, consisting of three Americans and one Canadian, is 100,000 miles from Earth, with 160,000 miles remaining to the moon. They will orbit the moon and return home without landing, making them the first lunar travelers since Apollo 17 in 1972.
