San Jose wants PG&E to fund city employees - San Jose Spotlight
Briefly

San Jose City Council has unanimously decided to negotiate with PG&E to improve the city's electrical infrastructure and support economic growth while pursuing decarbonization efforts. As part of the agreement, city officials aim to secure funding for six new positions within the city energy development team. These roles will oversee public works and economic development efforts. PG&E has expressed eagerness to participate, indicating that adequate electrical infrastructure is critical for the growing demands in North San Jose and downtown areas. There are also ongoing discussions about establishing a city-run electric utility due to past issues with PG&E.
We are excited and committed to serving the current needs and future growth of the city of San Jose's residents and businesses, said PG&E spokesperson Stephanie Magallon.
I'm very happy that PG&E is coming to the table as a good partner, and they are definitely demonstrating their desire to help us meet our economic development goals, said Councilmember David Cohen.
