Former San Jose Sharks netminder Alex Stalock has retired from the NHL at age 37, following a career impacted by health issues related to COVID-19.
Stalock played 179 games in the NHL and had his best season with the Minnesota Wild, winning a career-high 20 games before stepping away due to Myocarditis.
The Sharks announced that Stalock will join Dan Rusanowsky as alternating color commentators for the Sharks Audio Network in a new broadcasting role.
Known for his classic goaltending style and playmaking abilities, Stalock was a fan favorite and contributed to his teams well beyond conventional goaltending.
