Barry Bonds Day will be celebrated on February 5, 2025, with Oracle Park illuminated in orange lights. Mayor Daniel Lurie proclaimed this day to honor Bonds, highlighting his impact on baseball and the San Francisco community. The recognition follows Willie Mays Day on February 4, 2024, underlining the importance of Bonds as a baseball icon. Bonds expressed gratitude for the recognition, celebrating his career and the support from fans. Giants' CEO Larry Baer emphasized the significance of the occasion in acknowledging Bonds' achievements and his lasting influence on the community.
"Today, we are celebrating Barry Bonds for his contributions to baseball and more importantly for everything he has given San Francisco," said Mayor Lurie.
"I am extremely honored to receive the recognition and proclamation from Mayor Lurie and the City and County of San Francisco," said Bonds.
"It's fitting that one year and one day after a city-wide celebration for his godfather, we're honoring another all-time great and Forever Giant," said Giants President and CEO Larry Baer.
2/5/25 is an opportunity to celebrate one of the greatest players ever and thank you to Mayor Lurie for recognizing Barry not only for his unmatched accomplishments on the field but also for his lasting impact on the San Francisco community.
