The San Francisco Giants showed interest in acquiring center fielder Luis Robert from the Chicago White Sox earlier this offseason, along with discussions involving the Cincinnati Reds. However, these trade talks did not result in a deal, and Robert is likely to remain with the White Sox as they head into spring training. Although Robert had a disappointing 2024 season, he had a breakout year in 2023. Amid ongoing roster adjustments, the Giants' outfield plans seem mostly finalized with current players, despite potential interest in increasing depth.
The San Francisco Giants also expressed interest in Robert earlier this offseason, but those talks, too, failed to produce a trade.
While trading for Robert certainly could have provided a boost to the middle of the Giants' order, it appears the slugging outfielder will remain in Chicago.
