As the 2025 MLB season approaches, the San Francisco Giants look forward to having 26 players on their Opening Day roster. Unlike previous seasons when player churn was common, the Giants are expected to maintain a more stable lineup under new management. With a greater number of durable players, it's anticipated that the team will use significantly fewer than the 58 players utilized last year, leading to a projection of about 53 players for the 2025 season.
On March 27, there will be 26 different Giants players wearing a uniform, basking in the glory of one of the sport's most exciting accomplishments: making the Opening Day roster.
The Giants also have a more set lineup than at any time in recent memory, and a good number of those players are quite durable.
It seems wise to project a fairly large step backwards. I'll guess that they use 53 players in 2025.
The past regime was well known for churning through players, and it seems safe to assume that Buster Posey will not want to do that as much as Farhan Zaidi did.
