Renardo Green, selected 64th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, has emerged as a standout cornerback for the 49ers, showcasing skill and versatility in preseason.
"I believe [Green] was already in the mix," Whitner explained, citing the rookie's preparedness to step in, especially with Yiadom sidelined, demonstrating the depth of the 49ers' secondary.
After an impressive debut against the Saints, where he mostly limited Olave to one catch for 19 yards, Green has proven he's ready for significant playing time.
"With the length [and] depth [the 49ers] have, I think they're going to be in pretty good shape," stated Whitner, suggesting San Francisco's secondary is at its best in years.
