USC confirms former coach Pete Carroll is returning ... to teach

Carroll, who left USC for the NFL in 2010, is set to return as a professor, sharing his extensive coaching knowledge and experiences with students.

"We are excited to welcome Pete Carroll home to USC in a new capacity in which he can, as a legendary coach and leader, share his knowledge and experience with our students..."

In his radio interview, Carroll expressed his anticipation for this new role, stating, "I'm looking forward to that; it's going to be a really exciting endeavor when it's finalized..."

Reflecting on past decisions, Carroll admitted, "I thought I'd be at USC forever, but the opportunity to coach in the NFL was one I couldn't pass up."
