The Washington Commanders made a significant investment in offensive lineman Sam Cosmi, extending his contract for four years with $45 million guaranteed, underlining his vital role on the team.
"To get that deal done prior to the season is a good deal," Washington coach Dan Quinn expressed. "He's a Commander through and through. He'll be an anchor inside for years to come."
General manager Adam Peters hailed Cosmi as "a pillar of the team" and “a great leader,” emphasizing the importance of his continued presence alongside rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
Quinn noted that Cosmi’s transition from tackle to guard has made a positive impact, suggesting that "that kind of stoutness is big" for creating pocket space for the quarterback.
