Kadarius Toney, a key contributor in Super Bowl LVII, was cut by the Chiefs just two years after his iconic 65-yard punt return played a crucial role in their victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Despite his significant contributions, including a touchdown in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl, Toney struggled to find consistent playing time, catching just 16 passes in nine games during his first season with the Chiefs.
The Chiefs also waived former European rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit after limited preseason success as he attempted to transition into an NFL running back role, adding tight end Peyton Hendershot and defensive end Cameron Thomas through trades.
Mecole Hardman secured his place on the Chiefs' initial roster, having previously won the game with a touchdown in overtime of Super Bowl LVIII, highlighting the team's depth and evolving roster.
