Dorados de Sinaloa defender Luis Ruiz has been suspended for three months and will incur a four-match ban after causing a serious injury to Atlante’s Christian Bermudez.
The tackle, which led to a double fracture of Bermudez's right leg, was deemed violent and drew immediate disciplinary action from the FMF.
After reviewing interviews and medical reports, the FMF enforced a suspension that extends Ruiz’s absence from the field until 2025, a significant repercussion for his actions.
Christian Bermudez had to undergo surgery for a fractured fibula and tibia, and he currently has no confirmed timeline for his return to professional football.
