Grady Jarrett is now the franchise leader in quarterback hits
Briefly

On Sunday, Jarrett set a new franchise mark, passing John Abraham for the all-time team lead in quarterback hits. He came into the day one behind Abraham and passed him late in the game against the Steelers with a half-sack he shared with Matthew Judon, bringing him to 1.5 sacks on the day. That effort also brought him within two sacks of the seventh, eight, and ninth place players on the all-time franchise leaderboard for sacks.
Consider that Jarrett is known primarily for his stellar run defense and that he plays on the interior and this mark becomes even more impressive for the veteran, who has spent his entire career in Atlanta after somehow being scooped up in the fifth round back in 2015.
Also, because this is ostensibly a weekly article about the game MVP for the Falcons this week, let's go ahead and give that particular aware to Jarrett, as I did in this morning's recap. Rock solid run defense and 1.5 sacks on a day where the defense desperately fought to keep a woeful offense in this game is enough to get him the nod from me.
