Florida State's head coach Mike Norvell announced that tailback Jaylin Lucas will miss the rest of the season due to injury, but he has a redshirt option remaining.
Norvell expressed optimism about Lucas's future, stating, "I'm still very excited about what his future is as a Seminole, but it's unfortunate we're going to lose him for the rest of the season."
With Lucas sidelined, Florida State's running game, which was expected to be a strength, has struggled significantly, ranking 128th in the nation in rushing yards per game.
Norvell highlighted the need for younger players like Kam Davis to step up, saying, "Our thoughts are with him as he's jumping into the rehab part of recovery, and I know he'll do a great job of continuing to help the guys on the field."
