David Long Jr., who was once recognized as a top inside linebacker by Pro Football Focus, lost his Dolphins starting job and was released less than a year later.
Despite leading the Dolphins with 113 tackles last season and being voted a team captain, David Long's inconsistent pass defense led to his release from the team.
The Dolphins' linebacker corps now includes Jordyn Brooks and Anthony Walker Jr. as starters, while Tyrel Dodson and Channing Tindall fill the remaining positions after Long's departure.
New arrival Jack Stoll, a tight end claimed off waivers, aims to bring depth to the Dolphins' roster after recently being released by the Eagles and Giants.
